Dear ICPSR Community Members,
We are writing to encourage you to invite students at ICPSR member institutions to apply for the Data Communication Scholarship. Undergraduate and graduate students (including recent grads) can earn money, knowledge, and recognition just for exploring data and making a three-minute video about it!

Submission Deadline: February 23, 2026, at Midnight ET

Awards: $1,000 (first place) and $750 (second place)
What to Do:
Students are invited to submit a short video (no longer than 3 minutes) that describes an ICPSR study. Participants will gain skills in navigating ICPSR data and communicating findings creatively.

Also, check out Episode 20 of the Data Brunch Podcast, where the winners from 2025 talk about how they came up with their winning videos, and what they learned about the ICPSR data they explored.
Eligibility:

Must attend an ICPSR member institution.

Graduate no earlier than April 1, 2025.

Select studies that are part of ICPSR's curated collection.
Submission Checklist:

Complete the entry form with submitter and data information.

Include a link to the video showcasing the chosen ICPSR study.
Awards Announcement:
Winners will be announced in April 2026. Cash prizes, certificates, and letters of recognition will be awarded.
