The IEAS Library and the Libraries of Humanities Reopening
In response to the slowdown of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in conjunction with the prevention policy of Academia Sinica and the resolution of the Libraries of Humanities, the IEAS Library has revised its precautionary measures to the following:

Beginning 5/25 (Monday), the Library will reopen to individuals affiliated with the IEAS or Academia Sinica. This also applies to the Libraries of Humanities, except for the Institute of Ethnology, which will be reopened to all individuals on 6/1.

Beginning 6/1 (Monday), the Library will reopen to individuals who are not affiliated with Academia Sinica (including those holding an Inter-Library card).

When entering the Library, please wear your ID, bring your own mask and wear it at all times, practice social distancing, and fill out a health record form at the front desk.

Please cooperate in having your temperature taken. Individuals with temperature above 37.5°C (forehead) or 38°C (ear), or with symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath are not allowed to enter, and please see a doctor immediately.

You are welcome to use the dry hand sanitizer at the front desk.

Borrowing: Beginning 5/25, the loan period for borrowed books will resume to normal. Patrons whose loan period has been extended during the pandemic prevention period remains unchanged. (The loan period for the Institute of History and Philology ends on 6/30/2020. The loan period for the Institute of Economics, Institute of Modern History, Institute of Chinese Literature and Philosophy, and IEAS ends on 9/30/2020. The loan period for the Institute of Ethnology, Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences, and Joint Library of Humanities and Social Sciences depends on each individual book.)

Returning: Books may be returned at the front desk. Patrons are also welcome to use the book drop.

The closed stack retrieval service and photocopying service provided by the library staff during the pandemic prevention period will not be available beginning 5/25.

To adhere to the pandemic prevention policy of Academia Sinica, all applications for visits/guided tours are temporarily suspended.
