Suspension of all individuals who are not affiliated with the IEAS or Academia Sinica from entering the Library

 

In response to recent confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Academia Sinica, starting on March 24, 2020 (Tuesday), the IEAS will adhere to the resolution of the Libraries of Humanities, in which all individuals who are not affiliated with Academia Sinica will not be allowed to enter its Library. Books and materials may be accessed only through closed stacks retrieval service.

  1. Suspension of all individuals who are not affiliated with the IEAS or Academia Sinica from entering the Library (including those holding an Inter-Library card).
  2. Colleagues of Academia Sinica who wishes to borrow books or materials please email us at library@gate.sinica.edu.tw, and please include the borrower’s name and affiliation, number of Academia Sinica ID card or library card, book’s title, author, call number, and barcode, or screenshots of all relevant information.
  3. To adhere to IEAS instructions, IEAS colleagues are temporarily restricted from accessing the Library book stacks on the first floor, and the entire second and third floors. Nevertheless, IEAS colleagues may enter the first floor of the Library. The procedure of borrowing books or materials is same as above.
  4. Book return: The borrowing period will be extended to September 30, 2020. Please make use of the book drop when returning books.
  5. For photocopying service, please email us at library@gate.sinica.edu.tw. Please provide detail information on what you wish to be photocopied.
  6. When entering the Library, please wear your Academia Sinica ID card or library card. Please bring your own mask and wear it at all times while inside the Library, and please fill out a health record form at the front desk.
  7. Please cooperate in having your temperature taken before entering. Individuals with temperature above 37.5°C (forehead) or 38°C (ear) are not allowed to enter. Those with symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath are not allowed to enter, and please see a doctor immediately.
  8. You are welcome to use the dry hand sanitizer at the front desk.
  9. For individuals who are not affiliated with Academia Sinica, please use the Interlibrary Loan System (NDDS) at https://ndds.stpi.narl.org.tw/index to borrow books and materials, and please avoid visiting the Library.
