New for 2024: Scholarship Encourages Students to Explore, Showcase ICPSR Data

The ICPSR Research Paper Competition has evolved into the ICPSR Data Communication Scholarship! Students from ICPSR member institutions can now earn scholarships through creative video presentations instead of traditional papers. Participants will explore ICPSR datasets, identify interesting research topics, and present them in short, engaging video promos. Winners can earn up to $1,000 while enhancing their experience with innovative data usage.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?

A: Meeting new participants that come to the Summer Program, and catching up with old ones every year. I'm not a data person, or a research person, so hearing someone's dissertation topic is always fascinating. I'm so impressed at how people come up with the ideas they have for their research, it's stuff that's so specific I would never think of it, but they are so passionate about it I can't help but get excited, too.
